Between Calling and Comfort

Between “Calling” and “Comfort”

Just want to say a big thank you to a certain group of people who loves reading my blog and have through the years help me keep my readership up going up! It’s good to know people read your post isn’t? I mean why would you write something that didn’t matter after all? This is another one of those “offensive” “defensive” and “hantamsive” post, so if you feel a punch is coming your way move out!

Between Calling and Comfort- I thought of the title for this post a little and I felt yeah this is THE ONE for THE ONEs. So here we go!

“Then Jesus added, “I can guarantee this truth: A prophet isn’t accepted in his hometown.”

I’m not calling myself a prophet nor am I indicating that the organizations I’m involve with is a prophetic ministry, because we aren’t even close to Prophetic we are Apostolic ~if you can’t feel the sarcasm feel it now =) ~

Having moved on from a church to another some years back, I have in fact grown very thick skin and immune to critics who say I am ungrateful, unfaithful and all sorts of judgmental words that could have really made me bitter and hurting, but guess what recently someone called me lazy and fat “ouch” but who cares =) . I don’t know what can and will make me happier serving my Jesus at the present stage of my life.

Thank God and our Jesus for a guarantee. Like seriously! Because if not we would have felt all so poor thing and evil! But let me just say this straight forwardly and blatantly. I’m not interested at all to offend anyone, make anyone sad nor am I looking forward to see the destruction of a fellow believer’s church or organization.

  1. We have a calling over our lives and that’s to minister and win souls for Jesus Christ. How am I suppose to be apologetic about the fact that we have a great team of leaders and a bunch of sold out leaders, who when you see him or her you can’t help but really claim that Jesus is alive? I strongly believe in 2 things,

A)     If you have been leading a strong and well rooted youth organization, which have been catering to all the needs of your teens or students, they won’t and will not lari away from your awesome loving care.

B)      It can’t be someone else’s fault that when you fail to meet the needs of your own teens, or CF members and have a Team or committee that isn’t unified in spirit to give God your all, but to only gossip and talk about how “bad” others are, and then blame others for the lack of growth or the lost in numbers!

Our dedicated, sold out, crazy and sacrificial team of leaders, “risk” their exam results, boyfriend girlfriend relationships, relationship with friends and family, sacrificing all the time they have to get this teens to where they are today! We spent thousands upon thousands of hard raised money to fund every activity, meeting, sharing and more often than not using our own pockets to pay bills which “should” be paid kononya the “church”. They serve God with all they have got, and to be honest with many of you, they and I owe no one an explanation as to what we do, but the leaders above us and towards the Daddy up there who has given us the call.

Commitment – I know not all our teens are sold out and committed to the same cause as we are, but I know we are getting somewhere. But one thing I will never compromise is the fact that our leaders must not ever be missing from a Sunday service! That’s because we pray, we fast and we cry out to God and we say “give us teens, grow this house of yours, and we love them” and yet when they come, I have no one to wash their feet, no leader to pray with them, stand by them and get to know at least the second alphabet in their name. So if getting involve elsewhere means sacrificing your “calling” I say to you forget it! What I have is a concert, rock band, and a big time Rally every Sunday, the only difference is this, one has direction and vision which will remain the same, the other is based on the committee and chairman of that year, prove me wrong if you’re unhappy about this statement. So when we have good leaders we flourish, and when we don’t we still do it anyway because its tradition – point blank. Ouch but its true… dude think about it!

We made a decision somewhere and at some point, if teens are in schools we will go there, if teens are in cyber café (we will have super matured leaders who will not backslide so that they can bring people out to mamak and connect after the CC and then bring them to church) we will go there, if they are in malls we want to get there, if they like good music we won’t give bad music, if they need cool looking materials to direct their focus and attention we will have awesome and attractive designs to communicate the LOVE of JESUS CHRIST! Ultimately, if serving Jesus means stepping on some people’s toes, we will still do it! Because we have been called to serve Jesus, we can’t stop just because people put their toes in front of you to be stepped and then scream “ouch”.

To be honest, I’m wasting my time writing this post! But I know I need to make a stand and I’m going to say this out loud – it can’t be always that when your organization is not growing that someone is stealing your sheep, it can’t be always that when other people’s organization is growing that they are only providing entertainment!

I believe in this very much since I’m in food, you can’t tell the other Char Koay Teow vendor not to cook her Koay Teow so nice just because your koay teow is bad right? You can’t tell the Chicken Rice Shop to close down just because they have air-conditioning while the corner shop doesn’t have right? You can’t tell Papa Rich to close shop because Old Town started the Kopi Tiam concept first right? Then dude why can’t you apply the same principal, and just do what God has given you and do it well?

If only people and humans who say and claim that they want to serve the Lord do it with all their hearts and mind, we won’t and will not have a problem with having issues like this! Because we don’t have time to talk so much crap! Every minute someone who doesn’t know Jesus goes to hell and every second you talk your rubbish someone is lost to the world! So hey, go entertain yourself with a good show maybe ipman, or Iron man 2 oh ya Robin hood isn’t too bad too, if you have so much time!

If we say we are believers than we must stop looking at our differences and start looking at what we have in common. I’m off to save my world! I wrote this post because, I haven’t said anything at all in a long time, so since people like to say so much I shall allow them to say all they want. But I have a stand to make for myself too!

Off to save my world!

*the LED TV is really good if you want to watch movies =)
